Lacy, graceful growth. Short, soft light yellow-green needles in the spring changing to glossy dark green. Can be pruned to maintain a height from 2 to12 feet. Likes moist, organic well drained soil. Excellent subject for rocky bluffs or sandy soil. Planting location can be a sunny or shady site. Canadian Hemlock tolerates shade well, unlike most conifers. Does not tolerate wind or drought well.
