A finely branched, compact shrub growing to a height of 4 to 5 feet with equal spread. Its habit is mounded and drooping. Outstanding colorful yellow flower display early in the spring before the dark green foliage appears. Prune after blooming, as their flower buds develop during the summer and fall for the next years flowers. Attractive, handsome maroon fall color. This deciduous, fast growing shrub is very easy to grow as it adapts well to most soils that are well drained. It is an excellent cold hardy selection. Grows best and flowers most prolifically in full sun or light shade. Deer resistant. Use in mixed borders, foundation plantings and cutting gardens. Especially spectacular when planted in a mass. Also, an ideal choice for hedges, a specimen or privacy screen.
