Also known as American Larch. A slender, deciduous ornamental growing to a height of 40 to 80 feet. Spread 15 to 30 feet. Soft, lacelike needles are pale, bright blue-green throughout spring and summer. The foliage turns bright yellow in fall making this conifer distinguishable from a distance. Plant in full sun. Prefers moist, acidic, well drained soil. Often found in bogs and at higher elevations. Wildlife food. Native to North America. Excellent for groves, screens or as a specimen.
